James Elliott

Dr James Elliott, Senior Intermediary

Jamie has been with IXC UK since its inception in 2006, training in Australia and playing an instrumental role in implementing the service in the UK market. He has worked extensively with a wide range of IXC clients from a wide range of sectors, and both corporate and academic in nature. 
Jamie's passion for innovation and seeing ideas grow into successful products and services was born from his experience at the University of Birmingham where he set up and developed the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre.
His scientific background is in microbiology: he holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology from Aberdeen University, an MSc in Biotechnology from Nottingham Trent University and a PhD in Molecular Biology from Napier University. Reflecting and enhancing his commercial experience, he also holds an MBA from the University of Birmingham.

Howard Farbrother

Howard Farbrother, Senior Intermediary

Howard combines an extensive technical background and very strong analytical ability with broad-ranging commercial and consulting skills. He gained his doctorate in systems engineering in 1996 focusing on adaptive control systems for remotely operated underwater vehicles. He then helped the Royal Navy develop and implement tactics before working in the aerospace industry and achieving Chartered Engineer status. Since graduating with an MBA from London Business School in 2001 he has gained a broad swath of experience in strategy consulting, corporate venturing, start-ups, product innovation and marketing strategy; working in industries as diverse as telecoms, finance, security, FMCG, leisure and media & entertainment, which has allowed him to explore many facets of innovation.
