Earlier this month, the Department for Transport (DfT) held their Industry Day in London, UK.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of State for Transport, MP Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin, declared the ambition and opportunity imbued by the record amounts of government funding being put into UK railways over the next 5 years; strengthening the focus on passengers, and building commercial expertise and innovation. IXC UK is recognised as a leading practitioner of Open Innovation and collaborative development, successfully delivering innovation initiatives to companies and organisations in the Transport, and other industry, sectors. In supporting the Department for Transport's (DfT) strategy for introducing innovation as a significant component of future rail franchises, IXC will utilise its transport domain expertise and track record in innovation and through working closely with the Future Railway plus the wider rail stakeholder network.
